Pippi Longstocking
Pippi Longstocking lives alone in the big house “Villekulla“. Her father is busy pirating at sea and to ruling as king of Kurrekurredutt Isle. But she is not lonely, as she has her friends Tommy and Annika, her horse Little buddy and her monkey Mr. Nilsson.
Pippi Longstocking is the first book in the series of Pippi Longstocking written by Astrid Lindgren.
When the book was first published in Sweden it was highly controversial and was often harshly critizised. When it was reviewed in the newspaper “Aftonbladet“ the headline stated "Bad and award-winning". However, it was not all bad reviews, most were positive.
The books about Pippi Longstocking have currently been translated into 92 languages all over the world.
