Helene Tursten (born in 1954) has worked as a nurse, dentist and translator, but is today one of Sweden’s most popular crime writers.
She has published twelve novels, ten of them in a series starring Detective Inspector Irene Huss. Her debut novel, “Detective Inspector Huss” was published in 1998 and is the first one in the series.
Her books have been translated to more than fifteen languages, including English, German, French and Italian.
Several movies have been based on her books; nine starring the character Irene Huss. Six of them were produced through a Swedish-Danish-German collaboration.
