Pija Lindenbaum is the author and illustrator that through her work gives a voice to a new generation of children. She is especially known for her ability to portrait the quiet, thoughtful and cautious child that doesn’t often get to be in the literary spotlight.

Pija Lindenbaum has been awarded many of the most prestigious prizes in the world, including New York Times diploma for best picture book, the Swedish August Prize and Illustrator of the year in Bologna.
Her books approach subjects that are important in every child’s life, both big and small. Being afraid of sleeping over, feeling shame, the longing for a sibling, and being part of an unorthodox family are all portrayed with care and humor. Her illustrations are multifaceted and she uses colors as a way to emphasize the feeling she wants to achieve.
