Roslund & Hellström
Roslund & Hellström is a duo writing crime novels. It consists of Anders Roslund (born 1961) and Börge Hellström (born 1957) and they published their first novel, “The Beast” in 2004. Their sixth book, “Two Soldiers” was published in May 2012.
Roslund is journalist who has a background as news chief at Aktuellt, one of the Swedish national television’s major news shows, and as director of the daily show The Culture News. Hellström, an ex-con, is a well-know debater on crime related topics and one of the founders of KRIS (Kriminellas Rätt I Samhället), an organization working with assisting ex-cons to establish themselves as law-abiding citizens. They met when Roslund did a documentary on the Swedish correctional treatment.
A recurring theme in their books is the question of who is the real victim when a crime has been committed, and if it’s always is easy to separate victims and criminals.
They have received several nominations and awards for their books; The Glass Key Award for “The Beast” in 2005, The Platinum Pocket for The Year's Most Sold Swedish Crime Novel (more than 100 000 copies sold) in 2006 for “Box 21” (also published as “The Vault”) and acknowledged on the New York Times list of Notable Crime Fiction for 2009.
